An excellent vintage Omega Seamaster Automatic with the highly desirable silver sparkle dial. Reference 166.057 with a calibre 565 movement produced c. 1970.
This is a really lovely piece that has been cared for exceptionally by its previous owner. The sparkly silver dial is among the more collectible variants, and its really stunning on the wrist. The dial texture is complimented well by the brushed surfaces of the case, and the watch wears bigger than its 36 mm due to nice chunky lugs and a 44 mm lug-to-lug distance.
The hippocampus case back medallion is in exceptional condition, and underneath beats the Omega calibre 565 which is renowned for its reliability. A great value buy for an early 70s Seamaster in original, serviced condition with Omega service records Omega strap, buckle & travel case.
Dial:
- Original silver dial with textured ‘sparkle’ finish
- Applied Omega logo, wide steel baton markers with onyx inserts and steel baton hands with onyx inserts
- Tritium lume to tips of hour and minute hands and outside the markers
- Steel framed date window at 3 o’clock
- Original, Omega-stamped acrylic crystal

- Tonneau shaped stainless steel case with brushed finish to the sides and lugs
- Original Omega-signed crown
- Screw-fit caseback with correct and well defined Seamaster Hippocampus logo; there are some scratches present to the caseback
